Horizontal Stabilizer
Home Up Vertical Stabilizer Horizontal Stabilizer Elevators Rudder

The HS will eventually be one piece, but it is really like building two VS's. It is going to take a bit longer to complete.

Match drilled all stiffeners, brackets and spars together, plus the center bearing for the elevator attachment.

Left HS Match Drilling

Left side is all drilled out now. On to the right... Overall the HS is going together more smoothly than expected. Although I just realized two holes on the tip rib for the left HS were too close to the edge due to the tip being bent during assembly. If you look closely in the rib/spar picture, you can see the bend. I will be purchasing my first replacement part on Monday.

Now it is time to prep the skin and rib/spars for final assembly.
